The Story So Far We introduced Maya, the lone survivor holding the line. We introduced Clara, the aquatic tactician ruling the waterways. And we introduced Brother Kaelen, the Smiling Martyr searching for his lost sister.Tonight, they stop running. MISSION BRIEF: THE FLAYING PIT

THE MAP

  • Zone A (The Flooded Crypts): A series of blue/water tiles leading into the basement.
  • Zone B (The Nave): A massive open area filled with pews (hindered movement).
  • Zone C (The Altar): The final room. Locked.

THE SQUAD

  • Maya: Starts with a "Meat Cleaver" and "Canned Food."
  • Clara: Starts in Zone A (Water).
  • Brother Kaelen: Starts at the main entrance of Zone B.

THE ENEMIES

  • Matriarch Elara: Spawns in the center of Zone B. She is surrounded by 10 Walkers (The Petitioners).
  • Silas the Self-Flayed: Locked inside Zone C.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Breach the Crypts: Clara must activate a lever in the flooded basement to unlock the main doors for Kaelen and Maya.
  2. Silence the Matriarch: Elara must be defeated (or lured away) to access the Key to the Altar.
  3. The Rescue: Open the door to Zone C and save the prisoner before Turn 8.

SPECIAL RULES1. Clara’s Element The Crypts are flooded waist-deep. Only Clara can move through them without spending extra actions. If any other Survivor enters Zone A, they move 1 Zone per turn maximum.2. The Matriarch’s Sermon As long as Elara is alive in Zone B, she spawns 2 extra Skin Saint Runners at the end of every turn. She is calling her flock.3. Kaelen’s Rage If Kaelen opens the door to Zone C, he gains the "Berserk" skill (infinite melee attacks) for one turn. He senses who is inside.

THE ENDING: FACE TO FACE WITH SILAS

Read this aloud to your players when they finally breach the door to Zone C.

The heavy oak door to the Altar room splinters under Kaelen’s fists. The air inside is thick with the smell of iron and antiseptic.In the center of the room, illuminated by candlelight, is Silas the Self-Flayed. He stands over a surgical table, his exposed muscles glistening in the dim light. He holds a scalpel with the delicacy of an artist.Strapped to the table is a woman. Her hair is matted, her face bruised, but Kaelen knows those eyes. It is Alina (the woman who will become Lady Vesper). His little sister.Silas isn't killing her. He is marking her. He has already begun carving intricate patterns into her arm—the first step of the "Liberation."Silas looks up, his lidless eyes fixing on Kaelen. He doesn't attack. He simply places the blade against Alina’s throat and smiles—a mirror of Kaelen’s own expression, but twisted into pure malice."You are late, Brother," Silas hisses, the chains on his wrists rattling as he tightens his grip. "She was just beginning to understand the beauty of the cage."Kaelen stops smiling.

GAME OVER CONDITION: If the players do not kill Silas within 1 Round of opening the door, he completes the rite.
